We celebrated SF Mayor Daniel Lurie and the great work he did with his nonprofit, Tipping Point, beginning in 2005. More than 150 scouters, family, friends and community supporters of scouting gathered at the Pomeroy Center. Thank you to our MC Reed Cowan, Service Troops 3 and 343, and the entire event committee.

New Event: Fourth of July Parade - All Scouts Invited
July 4 @ Sunset Dunes Park (Noriega St), 11:45am-2pm
Celebrate the 4th of July with a good old-fashioned neighborhood parade!
12–2 PM (marchers arrive no later than 11:45 am)
Scouts are encouraged to wear their Class A uniforms -- show your Scouting Spirit!
The scouting group will meet at Noriega St; the parade route goes from Noriega St to to Lawton St through the Sunset Dunes Park (formerly Great Highway).
March alongside your neighbors, a marching band, and a classic fire truck as we make our way from Noriega (starting at noon) to Lawton, where the fun continues.
Stick around for bounce houses, face painting, live music, bubble play, and apple pie—all set against our beautiful coastal backdrop.
The Golden State Warriors will host the seventh annual California Classic Summer League, presented by CarMax, at Chase Center on July 5th and 6th. The two-day event will feature the Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and San Antonio Spurs.
Each daily ticket includes two games, with all four teams in action. The California Classic showcases rookies from the 2025 NBA Draft alongside players vying for NBA and G League roster spots. Last season, seven players from the Warriors' California Classic team went on to play for the NBA squad. Games will feature modified rules, including 10-minute quarters.
Weeks of June 9 - July 14 @ Sea Scout Base, San Francisco
Incoming 6th through 9th grade campers spend every day exploring the best the San Francisco waterfront has to offer! Each day participants will learn the basics of kayaking, outrigger canoeing, and sailing on our fleet of traditional craft at San Francisco Sea Scouts Base. Campers meet at the Base in Aquatic Park for hands-on boating with a team of Sea Scout leaders and counselors, learning boating skills and safety procedures. They also have games and activities on our lawn, on the beach, and explore the sites like the Maritime Museum.
I hope you will join our scouting contingent in the 2025 San Francisco Pride Parade.
Our placement in the parade will be 011. This is very near the front of the parade. We will be meeting on Steuart between Mission and Howard. Please arrive by 10AM so we can get arranged. The parade starts at 10:30 and they will be moving us up a block at the beginning. (This is much earlier than last year since we are near the front of the parade.)
Please bring sunscreen, a hat, comfortable walking shoes, water and a snack. There is no storage so plan to carry what you bring.
Uniforms are optional. The San Francisco Pride Parade is not a political event (as determined by the IRS and the City of San Francisco). Class B T-shirts, other T-shirts, and Rainbow themed (family friendly) apparel are also appropriate.
Cub Scouts are encouraged to participate but they should bring a parent with them. Units participating need to bring their own adult leaders. We encourage family participation. Everyone is invited to participate.
We’ve had wheel chairs and strollers in the past, but navigating Market Street can be challenging. Let me know about any accommodations we may need to plan for.
Scouts are welcome to bring unit and rainbow flags to carry. We will provide the US and California Flags for the front. These flags will be followed by scouts with rainbow, SFE, and Unit flags. After the flags we will have the SFE banner followed by everyone else. Participants not carrying flags may hand out candy or other items to the crowd. (Absolutely no throwing of items!) Please feel free to bring items to hand out. (I’ll bring some wristbands.)
Save the date! This year's ScoutZone will be at the Sunday Streets in the Excelsior District (along Mission St) on Sunday, October 19. We'll have another great event, and it's a fantastic time to recruit new scouts into your unit! Each Pack, Troop, Ship, Post, Crew and Club is invited to host a fun activity!
